Founded in 1521, the Fuggerei in Augsburg provides housing for needy Catholic citizens at a symbolic rent. Designed by architect Thomas Krebs, this settlement is still funded by Jakob Fugger's endowment. With 67 houses and 140 apartments, it accommodates 150 residents who pray daily for the Fugger family.
