Standing on Domplatz, you're on historic ground. This is where the Babenburg once stood, the origin of Bamberg's development. Look around and you'll see the Romanesque Bamberg Cathedral, dominating the scene with its impressive towers. Just 37 meters to the southwest lies the statue of the Bamberg Horseman. Nearby, the Fürstenportal can also be seen to the southwest. Heading south, you'll find the Diocesan Museum Bamberg, just 66 meters away. This square is the heart of the city's history, surrounded by significant buildings that reflect Bamberg's growth over the centuries. A walk here is like stepping through time.
