Can you hear the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze? You're standing in Bäkewiese, one of Berlin's hidden gems. Look around, and you might spot a heron gracefully flying over the water. These birds are frequent visitors here. Did you know that Bäkewiese was once part of a vast river delta? Ancient waterways have shaped the landscape you see now. To your left, there's a small path leading to a bench, perfect for a short rest. Here, you can soak in the tranquility and observe the diverse plants and animals thriving in this protected area. Behind you is the Böckmannbrücke, a bridge that takes you over the Teltowkanal if you wish to continue your exploration.
