Founded in 1820 by Heinrich Gottlieb Ludwig Reichenbach, the Dresden Botanical Garden is part of the Dresden University of Technology. Since 1893, it has been located in the Großer Garten and houses around 10,000 plant species. The garden is recognized as a heritage monument in Saxony.
