Expo 2000 marked Germany's first officially registered World's Fair, themed 'Humankind, Nature, and Technology – A New World Arises'. From June 1 to October 31, 2000, it attracted approximately 18 million visitors to Hanover. The exhibition spanned an impressive 160 hectares across the trade fair grounds and an adjacent open area at Kronsberg.
