Imagine standing in a square that has remained virtually unchanged for over 800 years. Look around you, to your left is the impressive town hall standing since 1368. Just a few steps behind you is the Hanfried monument, a tribute to Johann Friedrich the Magnanimous, a great supporter of Jena University. As you move a bit further, you'll find the Bismarck Fountain to the south. This fountain is a popular meeting spot, perfect for soaking up the lively energy of the square. Look to the north, and you'll see the majestic St. Michael's Church, dominating the skyline since the 14th century. Here, history and the present meet in a fascinating way – can you feel the stories of the past coming alive?
