Am Keilstein

You're standing in a unique nature reserve that's been part of Regensburg since 1939. This 46-hectare area is a sanctuary for species that thrive in warmth and dryness. Take a look around; the south-facing slopes of the Keilstein are home to a remarkable variety of life. Plants from Eastern European steppes have made their way here, drawn by the mild climate and sheltered location. If you look northwest, you'll see the neighboring Southeastern Jura foothills nature reserve. This geological diversity adds a unique touch to the area's flora and fauna.
