The Orangerie in Gera, designed by architect Gottfried Heinrich Krohne, was constructed between 1729 and 1732, marking the western end of the Kitchen Garden in the Untermhaus district. Since 1972, it has housed the Gera Art Collection and is a heritage monument in Thuringia. The Otto Dix House has also been used as a second exhibition building since 1991.
