Part of the Theater Altenburg Gera, the Große Haus features a theater hall seating 552, a concert hall for 812, and the cozy 'Bühne am Park' with 141 seats. Opened on October 18, 1902, it was designed by architect Heinrich Seeling and was originally known as Reußisches Theater. Kay Kuntze and Volker Arnold are its directors.
