Laufwasserkraftwerk Koblenz

Standing here on the right bank of the Moselle, you're at the Koblenz Run-of-River Power Plant, the first in a series of twelve along the German section of the river. It's located near the confluence with the Moselle and forms a unit with the Koblenz weir. Operated by RWE Innogy, this power plant boasts a capacity of 16 megawatts, enough to supply electricity to about 18,000 households. Just 54 meters south, you'll find the Mosellum, a museum exploring the relationship between people and the river. Behind you, about 336 meters east, the Moselle flows steadily onward. It's a fascinating spot where natural power meets modern technology.
