You're standing on Steubenplatz, named after the notable General Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben. Look around, and you'll find yourself surrounded by some of Potsdam's most significant landmarks. To the south, just 33 meters away, stands the impressive Ringerkolonnade. Its central location between Schlossstraße to the north and the grand City Palace to the east gives the square a significant presence in the city.
