Ponttor, one of the two remaining north gates of Aachen's old city walls, was constructed in the early 14th century. It was part of the fortifications of the former free imperial city of Aachen. Today, it is home to various scout groups and is a protected architectural heritage monument in North Rhine-Westphalia.
