The Hochablass is a remarkable weir on the Lech River, constructed in 1911/1912, integral to Augsburg's historic water management. From its western part, the Hauptstadtbach diverts, flowing through the Old Town and supplying the Lechviertel with water. It was inscribed as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Augsburg Water Management System on July 6, 2019.
