The Roman Limes in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe is part of the Upper Germanic-Rhaetian Limes, a 550-kilometer former frontier of the Roman Empire. It was constructed with palisades, trenches, watchtowers, and forts to protect the Roman provinces of Upper Germania and Raetia. Today, it is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
