The Beobachtungsturm FB Geowissenschaften, also known as the Water Tower, was designed by Otto Techow in 1886. Initially built to supply drinking water to the village of Steglitz, it has been used by the Free University of Berlin since the 1980s. The tower, a listed Berlin monument, stands at an elevation of 68 meters above sea level.
