The Georg Elser Memorial in Berlin-Mitte commemorates the resistance fighter Georg Elser, who attempted to assassinate Hitler on November 8, 1939, at the Bürgerbräukeller in Munich. Created by Rolf Hochhuth and unveiled in 2011, the sculpture bears the inscription 'I wanted to prevent the war.' It is made of steel and stands 17 meters tall. Elser was murdered in Dachau concentration camp in 1945.
