The equestrian statue commemorates Elector Friedrich Wilhelm of Brandenburg, known as the Great Elector. Designed by Andreas Schlüter and completed in 1700, it has stood in the courtyard of Charlottenburg Palace since 1951. At 5.6 meters tall, it is one of the most significant works of European Baroque.
