Situated in the Mitte district, Hausvogteiplatz was founded around 1800 at the crossroads of Friedrichswerder and Friedrichstadt. This triangular square, built on former fortifications, gained prominence as a center of Berlin's fashion industry in the 17th and early 20th centuries. Part of its architecture is protected as a cultural heritage, and the square is home to the Modezentrum Hausvogteiplatz memorial.
