Leipziger Platz, an octagonal square in Berlin's Mitte district, was established in 1734 during the city's expansion. After being destroyed in World War II and residing in the border area from 1961 to 1989, it has been fully rebuilt. The western edge once featured the Potsdamer Gate, designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel.
