The Water Sports Museum in Grünau opened its doors in 1990 at Bürgerhaus Grünau. Initially started as a private collection by teacher Werner Philipp in 1980, it was developed with the help of his students. The museum, in collaboration with the Köpenick Cultural Office and the Stadtmuseum Berlin Foundation, showcases the history of water sports.
