Founded in 1864 by Johann Henrich Carl Eickhoff, the Gebr. Eickhoff Maschinenfabrik und Eisengießerei GmbH in Bochum is part of the Industrial Heritage Trail. From its inception, it has supplied the coal, ore, and salt mining industries in the Ruhr area and globally. The current building was constructed between 1938 and 1939, designed by architect Karl Eberle.
