The statue of Count Engelbert III of the Mark, created by Ferdinand Spindel in 1964, commemorates the founder of Bochum's Maiabendfest. Originally erected in 1910 and destroyed in 1944, the memorial was rebuilt in bronze. An inscription details the history of the Graf Engelbert Fountain.
