Guided Story

Imagine standing at a site that has been the nerve center of emergency aid in Germany for decades. To your east, you can see the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance. Together with the Technisches Hilfswerk, they form the backbone of disaster response in the country. Behind you, mostly hidden in the day-to-day hustle, the THW tirelessly coordinates assistance during crises. Since its inception in 1950, the THW has left its mark not just in the post-war era but also in numerous international missions. Many of its members are volunteers, dedicating their time to assist others. Even though you can't enter the building, its impact on the community is unmistakable.
