Here by the right bank of the Weser River stands Bremen's oldest power plant, a landmark in the city's energy history since 1905. Imagine this site, once supplying a quarter of Bremen's electricity, operated by swb Erzeugung AG & Co. KG. In 2010, it boasted a remarkable capacity of 268 megawatts electric and 283 megawatts thermal. Up to 1,000 tons of coal were burned daily here.
