The Friedrich Ebert Monument in Dortmund was erected on May 27, 1928, initiated by the Reichsbanner 'Black-Red-Gold' Hörde. Designed by artist Bernhard Hoetger, the stele bears the inscription 'The well-being of the people is my life's goal,' commemorating the first President of the Weimar Republic. It was funded by donations from the Hörde community.
