This memorial honors the miners who lost their lives in the mining accident at Kaiserstuhl II on August 8, 1920. Erected by the Iron and Steel Works, the limestone statue was crafted by artist Benno Elkan. Standing four meters tall, it bears the inscription 'In faithful memory of the miners of the Kaiserstuhl II mine who died on August 8, 1920, erected by the Iron and Steel Works'.
