Standing before you is the Bismarck Oak, a living testament to Dresden's history. Planted in 1890 in honor of Otto von Bismarck, this pedunculate oak rises to about 18 meters. Its crown spreads an impressive 16 meters wide. Right here, on the former village square of Altstrehlen, once known as Albertplatz, this tree has witnessed over a century of change. If you look south, you'll see the village green of Altstrehlen, just a few steps away. Though smaller than the Albert Oak at Wasaplatz, this tree remains an integral part of the local heritage.
