DenkRaum Sophienkirche honors the memory of the Sophienkirche, heavily damaged during World War II and dismantled in 1962-1963. This 14.4-meter-high monument was constructed where the Busmann Chapel once stood, a side chapel founded around 1400 by Lorenz Busmann. Construction of the memorial began in 2009 and was completed in 2020.
