The former 'Judenlager Hellerberge' near Dresden served as a transit camp for Jewish forced laborers at Zeiss Ikon from November 1942 to March 1943. In March 1943, all inmates were deported to Auschwitz, with only ten surviving. The camp was later used as a maternity camp for Eastern European forced laborers' children, where over 200 infants died due to deliberate neglect.
