The Elbe Bridge in Dresden is a crucial part of the A4 autobahn, connecting the district of Kaditz over the Elbe River. Originally constructed between 1934 and 1935 as part of the Dresden–Chemnitz highway, the 496-meter beam bridge was replaced with a new structure during the six-lane expansion of the autobahn from 1995 to 1998. It also spans the B 6 to Meißen and the Berlin–Dresden railway.
