Guided Story

Look up! There he is, the Golden Rathausmann, proudly standing atop the Neues Rathaus tower. Since 1908, he's been watching over Dresden. Did you know he's depicting Hercules? With a cornucopia in one hand, he symbolizes the city's wealth, while pointing to Dresden's beauty with the other. To your left, you'll find the Shield Lion, another striking monument. And behind you, a bit further, is the main entrance to the town hall. The Golden Rathausmann is more than just art. He's a silent witness to Dresden's history, surveying it all from his high perch. Truly an icon of the city.
