St. Remigius

Here you stand before one of the oldest churches in the area, St. Remigius. This remarkable Romanesque basilica dates back to the 12th or 13th century. Notice the thick stone walls, a testament to the architectural mastery of its time. As you look more closely, you'll see the typical features of Romanesque architecture, such as the round arches and solid construction. Originally serving as a hall church, it was used as a parish church until 2025 and is now part of the St. Suitbertus parish in Kaiserswerth. Its designation as an architectural heritage monument in North Rhine-Westphalia highlights its historical significance, preserving the legacy of this impressive structure.
