Standing here by the former harbor basin, you can almost imagine the bustling activity of loading coal onto ships. This basin was part of the Wilhelmine-Mevissen mine, a crucial site for coal shipping in its time. Positioned right by the Rhine, just south of Essenberg, it was a key industrial hub in the 20th century. As you look around, you'll sense the remnants of the industrial past, even though the activity has long faded. You might even hear the faint echoes of work that once filled the air.
