The Luther Stone marks the spot where the newly graduated Magister Martin Luther pledged to become a monk on July 2, 1505, during his journey from Eisleben to Erfurt. This memorial, made of gneiss, was erected in 1917. The inscription reads 'Consecrated Earth'.
