Built around 1300, Burg Luttelnau is the only partially preserved motte along the Ruhr River near Essen. The Kattenturm, a ruin of the residential tower, reflects the historical significance of this knight's residence. Although the castle fell into ruin in 1417, it remains an architectural heritage monument in North Rhine-Westphalia.
