Standing at the former operations building of the Himmelsfürster Erbstolln mine, you're at a site with significant historical depth. The Himmelsfürster Erbstolln was the deepest adit in the County of Mark, constructed at an elevation of +75 meters above sea level. Initially, it was planned to start on the eastern side of the Ruhr peninsula, but this plan was halted. If you turn slightly southwest, you can spot the Theodor-Heuss-Bridge about 264 meters away. This building stands as a silent witness to Essen's industrial past, deeply rooted in the region's mining heritage.
