Known as Schelmenschloss or Gruckau, the Schelmenburg was a significant water castle in today's Frankfurt-Bergen-Enkheim. The existing baroque castle, built in 1700 on the foundations of the medieval core, is a protected cultural heritage monument in Germany. It served as the ancestral seat of the Schelme von Bergen for centuries.
