Constructed in 1904 by Aage von Kauffmann, Villa Mumm served as the opulent residence of the 'champagne baron' Hermann Mumm von Schwarzenstein. Its resemblance to the Alte Oper Frankfurt and its six terraces earned it the nickname 'Little Opera'. The building now houses the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy.
