The King William IV Monument in Göttingen's Wilhelmsplatz was erected in 1837. It honors the Anglo-Hanoverian King William IV and marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the University of Göttingen. The statue was created by Ernst von Bandel and bears the inscription 'Guilielmus Quartus Rex Pater Patriae'.
