The Synagogue Memorial, also known as Mahnmal am Platz der Synagoge, was built in 1973. Created by artist Corrado Cagli, it commemorates the destruction of the synagogue in Göttingen. An inscription from Isaiah 54:10 adorns the sculpture: 'For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you.'
