Look up and you'll notice the striking facade designed by Alexis de Chateauneuf after the great fire of 1842. Behind you, towards the town hall, you can almost feel the past when letters were sorted by hand here. To your left, not far away, is the Alsterhaus, another slice of Hamburg's history. It's incredible how this place has transformed from the heart of communication to a vibrant piece of the city's heritage.
