Gedenkstätte Bullenhuser Damm

The Bullenhuser Damm Memorial commemorates the murder of twenty Jewish children and their caregivers on April 21, 1945, by the SS. Within the cellars of the former school, also used as a subcamp of Neuengamme concentration camp, four political prisoners and 24 Soviet prisoners were hanged. The memorial, opened in 1979, is operated by the Hamburg Memorials and Learning Centers Foundation.
