Located in Hamburg's Stellingen district, Tierpark Hagenbeck opened on May 7, 1907, as the world's first zoo without cages. Owned by the Hagenbeck family, the park evolved from a trading menagerie founded by Carl Hagenbeck Sr. in 1863. Today, it is a prominent feature of the Eimsbüttel district.
