The Ehrenfriedhof am Maschsee-Nordufer in Hanover was established in 1945 to honor 526 prisoners of war and concentration camp inmates of various nationalities. Among them were 154 Soviet citizens, murdered by the Gestapo in Hanover shortly before the end of World War II. This memorial, located at Arthur-Menge-Ufer, is a protected heritage monument in Lower Saxony.
