Built between 1840 and 1841, the synagogue was located in the backyard of a residence at Stiegelgasse 25. Completely destroyed during the November Pogroms of 1938, a memorial stele now stands on Synagogenplatz to honor the Jewish community and their place of worship. The ruins were sold, and a residence now occupies the site.
