Take in the expansive view of Windknollen. This 363-meter-high shell limestone plateau is reminiscent of North American prairies and the Mongolian steppe. Declared a nature reserve in 1997, it's known for its protected orchid species. Look closely, and you might spot some rare animals inhabiting the wetland areas. Behind you, about 615 meters southwest, lies the Napoleonstein, a monument marking the historical significance of this site. For over 60 years, this area served as a military training ground, and you can still see traces of old trenches and terrain lines.
