Located in Kassel's Wilhelmshöhe Park, the Great Greenhouse was constructed in 1822/23 by architect Johann Conrad Bromeis under Elector Wilhelm II to cultivate exotic plants. Later, its original structure was replaced with a more robust palm house, featuring an advanced iron-glass design. Managed by Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel, it is open for visits from Advent to May.
