Guided Story

As you stand here, take a moment to feel the quiet strength of the concrete structure around you. Look around; the simple facade doesn't immediately reveal its story. Behind you, at the riverbank, the old Church of Christi Himmelfahrt once stood, until it was demolished in 1973. This new church, completed in 1971, is a masterpiece by architect Robert Gerum. If you look up, you'll notice the glass facade capturing light in a unique way, creating a special atmosphere inside. Turn to your east, and you'll see the Burghalde, another historical landmark of Kempten. This church is more than just a place of worship; it's an architectural conversation between past and present.
