The Kiel Meimersdorf–Kiel Seefischmarkt railway, known as the Ostuferbahn, runs scenically from the Meimersdorf marshalling yard along the fjord to the Norway Quay. It traverses the ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems site and concludes at the naval arsenal. Portions of the line have been built over or removed.

As you stand here, take a moment to consider the railway line known as the Ostuferbahn. It stretches from the Meimersdorf marshalling yard, running scenically along the Kiel Fjord to the Norway Quay. On its route, it passes through the ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems site, previously known as Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft. Parts of this railway have now been built over or removed, especially in the shipyard and naval arsenal areas. Notably, the old Seefish Market by the Schwentine River isn't accessible by rail anymore. If you're looking to relax, the Werftpark is about 446 meters southeast and offers a peaceful retreat.
