Guided Story
Imagine the Rhine stretching out before you, majestic and full of history. Look to your left and see the gentle waves that have carried ships for centuries. Did you know that inside the museum, there's a model of the legendary Pfalzgrafenstein Castle? This tiny castle on a river island once served as a toll station, demanding fees from every passing ship. Behind you, towards the Mutter-Beethoven-Haus, you can almost hear the music that could have inspired young Ludwig van Beethoven in this picturesque area. As you wander through the museum, you can sense the stories of those who lived by the river, trading and braving the natural forces. Visiting here is like a journey through time, revealing the soul of the Rhine.
